Hello

I’m Dos Diaz, and I’m running for Town Council because I care deeply about this town and the people who live here. I believe in respectful, practical leadership—grounded in listening, collaboration, and a strong commitment to our shared community.

About Me

My name is Aristides Diaz Pedrosa, but I go by Dos. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to the continental United States when I was 17 to attend Georgetown. That’s where I met my wife, Abby Marshall, who is originally from Falmouth. We went on to attend law school at Cornell together, and we got married after graduation.

I first visited Falmouth in the summer of 2000. I was 21, coming to meet Abby’s family. By 2011, Abby and I had moved to Falmouth ourselves. She was pregnant with our son, Mateo, and our daughter, Emilia, was three years old. We had left behind our law firm careers in New York and Washington, D.C., and while we didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, we knew we wanted to raise our family here. Emilia is now a rising senior at Falmouth High School and Mateo is a rising eighth grader, also in Falmouth.

Professionally, I started as a deal lawyer, working on complex finance transactions. I loved the work—especially the process of negotiating and finding common ground. Eventually, I felt the urge to strike out on my own. Today, I run my own consulting agency. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a job that lets me work from home, be present for my family, and stay rooted in this town.

In the early 2010s, I became a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Falmouth. This experience deepened my connection to this community in ways I hadn’t expected. Later, I was honored to join the Town’s Sustainability Committee, where I’ve helped think through how Falmouth can grow in a responsible, intentional way.

Each of these roles has shaped how I approach problems and connect with people. As an attorney, I loved thinking strategically and helping move things forward. As a firefighter, I valued the camaraderie of the team and the structure of working together under pressure. As a small business owner, I enjoy learning about my clients and finding solutions alongside them.

People have asked me why I’m running for Town Council. I’ve tried to come up with a more intellectual answer—but the truth is simple: I just like to help. That’s it. And I believe that the experiences I’ve had, and the values I hold, make me well-prepared to help this town.

I’m focused on three priorities: collaboration, communication, and growth.

First, collaboration. I believe we get the best results when we work together—not by focusing on what divides us, but by finding common ground. That leads to better, more creative solutions.

Second, communication. A lack of communication breeds frustration and mistrust. Often, what upsets people isn’t what’s happening—it’s that they feel surprised or left out of the process. Our residents deserve transparency and the opportunity to be heard. Our town is stronger when people are informed and engaged.

Finally, a word about growth. In many ways, growth is just another word for change. And change is part of life. The town will continue to grow, and as it does, the way it looks will change. Our job is to ensure that no matter how much it changes, it continues to feel like Falmouth.

I love this town. I love this community. I’m not running because I think something is wrong. I’m running because there is so much that is right—and I want to be part of a team that builds on what we already love about living here.
